Intersec 2024 Awards announce shortlist with new categories attracting robust global interest

The 3rd annual Intersec Awards set to celebrate innovation and commitment in the world of fire, safety and security

76 entries made it to the final round, an increase of 38% compared to the 2023 edition of the Intersec Awards

Dubai, UAE: The much-awaited 3rd annual Intersec Awards is geared up to recognise and celebrate unparalleled innovation and commitment within the domains of fire, safety and security. Marking an impressive surge in participation, this year’s event has witnessed a 38% increase, with 76 finalists making it to the coveted final round - a testament to the global interest and evolution of these industries.

Part of Intersec 2024, the world-leading emergency services, security, and safety event that will take place from 16 - 18 January 2024 in Dubai, the Intersec Awards will culminate in a glittering gala on the evening of 17 January 2024 at the Palazzo Versace Hotel, Dubai. The Intersec Awards 2024 acknowledge and honour outstanding achievements across these vital sectors where industry leaders, experts, and visionaries gather to showcase the very best in fire prevention, safety solutions, and security measures.

Grant Tuchten, Portfolio Director at Intersec, organiser Messe Frankfurt Middle East, said: "Our esteemed international and regional jury members reviewed all entries, and after an intense round of discussions, have carefully narrowed down 76 entries that made it to the final round, an increase of 38% compared to the 2023 edition of the Intersec Awards.

“This notable surge reflects the dynamic of these sectors, where innovation and best practices drive tangible progress globally, fostering an ever-expanding landscape of possibilities.”

This year’s awards also include several new categories aimed at recognising excellence in the field. These include Fire Safety Excellence Project Award; Security Project of the Year – Middle East and Africa; Outstanding Fire Safety Team of the Year; Outstanding Security Team of the Year; and Women Trailblazers in Security or Fire Safety Award.

Among the finalists for the Fire Safety Excellence Project Award are Emirates Safety Laboratory, NAFFCO, Ateis Middle East, Reacton, and Easy Technology Solutions Company. Meanwhile, finalists for the Outstanding Safety Solutions award are EAGLE TECHNICAL PRODUCTS LTD, Bodytrak, SYSNAV, Evac+Chair International Limited, Löschigel, and BOSCH Communications Systems.

The top contenders for Premier Homeland Security Solutions award are Skyfend Technology, Ameesa Technology, RealNetworks, Axis Communications, Polimaster, and D-Fend Solutions.

For the Outstanding Commercial Security Solutions award, shortlisted companies include Eviden, Teledyne FLIR, Axis Communications, Eagle Eye Networks, RealNetworks, Motorola Solutions, Recogtech, and SALTO Systems.

The shortlisted companies for the Exemplary Perimeter Security Solutions award are Motorola Solutions, Axis Communications, Clark Door, Automatic Systems, Garrett, Infomatika, and Allegion.

Finalists for the Outstanding Cybersecurity Product/Service of the Year award include Dell Technologies, OTORIO, Matrix Comsec, National Security Services Group (NSSG), and Stamus Networks.

For the Security Project of the Year – Middle East and Africa, the shortlisted companies are Intelligent Security Systems; Intech LLC; Partizan Security; Infomatika LLC; Dubai Municipality and Siemens; Ipsotek Ltd; IDIS Middle East & Africa; and VIRTUAL TECHNOLOGY CENTER - DUBAI POLICE.

For the Outstanding Fire Safety Team of the Year, the judges have shortlisted three finalists: AESG, DRYDOCKS WORLD, and Emirates Safety Laboratory, Directorate General of Dubai Civil Defense, Dubai Police.

The finalists for the Women Trailblazers in Security or Fire Safety award are Eng Dana Kamal at NFPA - National Fire Protection Association; Dana Haubold at CISO External, Help AG; Tina D'Agostin at Alcatraz AI; Youmna Zod at Zod Security; Alyaa Alkaabi at UAE Ministry of Interior; and Tamara Arafat at Emirates Safety Laboratory.

Finalists, including Emirates NBD, VFS Global, Red Sea Global, and PSA International Pte Ltd, will compete for the Outstanding Security Team of the Year award.

Elsewhere, Advanced Navigation, Siemens, Paradigm Group, Araani, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), WAGNER Group GmbH and Ramtech have been shortlisted for Excellence in Fire Prevention.

Rising Star award for Emirati Talent finalists include Humaid Abdalla Hassan Al-Ali from UAE Civil Defense GHQ; Shaima Basaeed from RTA; Mansoor Ahmed from Emirates NBD; Afra Al Falasi from NAFFCO; Abdulkairm Al Zarouni from Abu Dhabi Airports; and

Mansoor Alrazooqi from Dubai Police.

Rounding out the awards, NAFFCO, NOVENCO (CVS), ASSA ABLOY, Axis Communications and DELTA PLUS have been shortlisted for the Sustainability Champion Award, which recognises products that promote a greener and more sustainable future.

Intersec's 25th edition, held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mansoor Bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is set to attract 1,000 exhibitors from 60 nations and 45,000 trade visitors, showcasing five broad product sections for Commercial & Perimeter Security, Homeland Security & Policing, Fire & Rescue, Safety & Health, and Cyber Security.
