CP Plus has a long association with Intersec – what are your plans for the show in 2019?
Indeed, we’ve had a long association with INTERSEC, and we look forward to it each year with renewed enthusiasm. Video surveillance has evolved manifold over the years and as a market leader we have always strived to stay ahead of the competition. The new age surveillance is all about automation, intelligence, and resource efficiency.
Therefore, this year we are focused on showcasing our Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) based technologies - IP surveillance solutions; Network PoE switches; 4K analog HD solutions with H.265+ CODEC; Law & Enforcement solutions such as Bodyworn cameras and Mobile DVRs; Command and Control Room solutions including Integrated VMS and Health Monitoring systems; Time & Attendance solutions with Cloud management; and Multi-apartment Video Door Phone systems.
You also launched a series of new solutions in the market at the exhibition in 2018 - Analog HD solutions in 4MP and 5MP, Time & Attendance solutions equipped with Facial Recognition, to name a few – how were these received by visitors can you provide examples of case studies where they’ve been used in the Middle East so far?
Our new solutions showcased at the exhibition in 2018 were received with immense interest and acknowledgement. Despite initial challenges, the Analog 4MP and 5MP HD solutions found significant growth in demand with a great customer response. Our Time & Attendance solutions with advanced facial recognition feature also received tremendous response with a significant spike in its demand.
Can you provide details of regional projects you’ve been involved with in the last year?
CP PLUS has won numerous projects across the region in the last year. To mention few - Landmark group projects that include Max Fashion, Lifestyle, Splash fashions, VIVA Supermarket, etc.; Fakhruddin properties – Residential tower; Exclusive Yatch – Dubai Marina Boats; Nakheel International City – 237 Buildings; Bohra Jamaat; Rigga hotel; NIKAI Electronics Group; Bin Majid Resort; Ghalib Tower; Concord Plastic Factory; etc.
You’ve mention that banking, education, hospitality, law enforcement, real estate, shopping & retail, and transportation industries are the industry verticals that CP Plus sees most opportunities for its business in the Middle East – why is this and can you provide case studies of recent projects that you’ve been involved specific to these verticals?
Today security has transcended from a need for safety to that of value addition; an enabler for people and processes. When integrated with other aspects of security such as fire and alarm systems, it can not only create a complete security ecosystem but also a huge support for managing operations and manpower. As such all verticals, be it banking, education, hospitality, law
enforcement, real estate, retail, or transportation, have identified with the need and adopted it wholeheartedly. CP PLUS has set a strong footing in major industry verticals and has successfully built a strong relationship with intelligence, security & trust. Once of our significant recent projects is Landmark Group.
Landmark Group, UAE:
Landmark group is a multinational conglomerate based in Dubai, UAE and is involved in retailing of apparel, footwear, consumer electronics, cosmetics & beauty products, home improvement and baby products. The group also has interests in hospitality & leisure, healthcare and mall management.
Various retail outlets come under Landmark group and round the clock surveillance was the major requirement for all.
CP PLUS has provided the solution for all the outlets and few of those are Max fashion where 200+ IP cameras were installed. Lifestyle with 300+ IP cameras; Splash fashions with 200+ Analog/IP cameras; VIVA Supermarket with 200+ IP cameras; Home center with 100+ IP cameras; Center point with 300+ IP cameras; Babyshop with 100+ Analog/IP cameras; Funcity with 50+ Analog/IP cameras; Food mark warehouse with 50+ IP cameras and much more.
What are the latest facial biometric technology developments in your company and where do see the opportunities in this particular area?
Facial biometric technology has been momentous in authenticating people and automating processes. CP PLUS has been working on deploying Facial Biometric technology into its CCTV surveillance systems, Time & Attendance systems, etc. Unlike previous facial recognition systems, the latest facial technology will be Artificial Intelligence (AI) based for higher accuracy. Considering that facial recognition is by far the best way to validate, the opportunities for the deployment and use of this technology is immense with applications in small firms to large enterprises, police forces, hotels, malls, factories and more.
What is the future of digital surveillance and video analytics technology and how will this impact how businesses operate?
Digital surveillance and video analytics is the way forward. Mining scores of digital video data to find answers and facilitate prompt decision making has become simpler with the help of video analytics. Besides, there are countless opportunities and problems waiting to be solved by video analytics. As the computing power of IP cameras continues to improve, video analytics will continue to solve more complex problems. Benefits will continue to be seen across multiple sectors, from assisting intelligence agencies to local retail outlets. Interconnected surveillance systems and increasingly autonomous IP solutions will become the norm in the near future. Perhaps, in the distant future, a fully predictive surveillance system may be a reality.
